what is
calisthenics

Calisthenic Gymnastics originates from Ancient Greece and comes from the words “kallos” which means beauty and “vigor” which means strength. It is a training system based on the exerciser’s own body weight. It develops neuromuscular coordination and skills such as flexibility, balance, strength and proprioception, while contributing to the development of all the muscles of the body.

Prokopis Kiminoulakis

Prokopis Kiminoulakis began his athletic journey at the age of five with water polo, which he played competitively until he was 30. He completed his studies at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (TEFAA) in Komotini, specializing in Special Education.

His professional fitness career began in 2009 at age 25 when he became a co-owner of “Body and Soul Treatment” gym in Chania. After running it successfully for about 10 years (later known as “OLYMPIKO”), he chose to focus on personal training.

For the last 5-6 years, Prokopis has dedicated himself to calisthenics, and in 2021, he established CLUB GRAVITY CALISTHENICS, where he conducts both personal and group calisthenics training. His passion for construction and design led him to personally design and build the entire facility.

Inspired by a trip to Amsterdam where he observed outdoor calisthenics parks in every neighborhood, Prokopis expanded his vision beyond personal training. He now designs and constructs high-quality calisthenics parks for various clients, from private individuals to hotels, applying stringent quality standards to ensure durability in all weather conditions.

His future goals include making calisthenics parks accessible in every neighborhood, with a special focus on creating facilities for people with disabilities and mobility challenges. He believes these outdoor parks can help encourage younger generations to spend less time on screens and more time engaging in physical activity.
